When should your debt councillor do a review on your status? Also are you allowed to buy a house whilst under debt review? From: Thomas
Firstly, a debt counsellor should do a review at least once a year. Your circumstances may have changed, and depending on your increase or decrease in income, your repayments may be adjusted accordingly. It is imperative that your policies - such as your insurance policies are also reviewed. Please contact your Debt Counsellor and ask for a review if this has not been done already.
Secondly, whilst under debt review you cannot incur any further debt. Unless you are buying the property with cash, you would unfortunately not be able to take a loan for this.
