My husband and I moved to Australia earlier this year, we received our IRP5s from our previous employers as well our employee provident funds when we withdrew our pensions, and a tax certificate from our medical aid which we paid for privately. We are registered for efiling and this year when we create our new forms should we confirm 2 IRPs forms recieved (for the employee one and the provident fund) or should we include the medical aid Certificate?

The medical aid tax certificate should not be shown as an IRP 5, the detail reflected on that certificate should be completed on the medical aid contributions part of the income tax return. Just below the question of how many IRP5's you have there is a couple of questions regarding deductions and one is did you make any contributions to a medical aid and that should be answered as yes, it will then generate the part where you should complete the detail on your medical aid tax certificate.

The difference between the IRP5 from your employer and the IRP5 from your provident fund is probably that the employer paid out a lump sum settlement package on resignation or retrenchment this payout is different from your payout from the provident fund and the two IRP5's will then differ.
