Throughout the world everyone is encouraged to enter the acronym ICE into their mobile phone with the person's number they would like contacted In Case of Emergency. You can also have ICE1, ICE2, etc. on your phone to ensure that someone will always be available to answer any important details about your medical history.
At this time of year, thinking about insurance and what-if scenarios is on no one's to-do list, and it might sound morbid, but as your house is your most valuable asset and safety your highest priority, keep in mind what my mother always says about insurance: "If you have it, you probably won't need it, but peace of mind is the greatest gift you can give yourself."
