For most of us, winning the lottery has been a farfetched dream.
Ithuba Holdings,South Africa’s third national lottery operator, just announced changes that are set to make winning easier.
According to research conducted by the National Lottery Operator the majority of Lotto players within South Africa would like to win more money, more often.
In a statement released this week it said: “In an unprecedented move, the Lotto game will see more allocations go into the jackpots for lottery players.”
The newly introduced changes include: a fixed guaranteed prize pay-out for R50 for those matching three numbers on the Lotto, currently players that get three matching numbers are paid out varying amounts which solely depended on the number of people who had won in the division.
Also, expect changes in the Lotto Plus. The Jackpot will no longer be rolling down instead it will be rolling over. The Lotto Jackpot will now keep on rolling until it’s been won, “leading to a sizeable jackpots.”
Lotto plus will also feature a fixed guaranteed prize pay-out of R20 for those matching three numbers.
Ithuba Holding added: “Changes will also include the introduction of the QuickPick option on the bet slip which has been given a new look and feel for the players’ convenience.”
These changes will be implemented on 22 May 2016.
The prices of Lotto tickets will be retailing for R5 and Lotto Plus for R2.50
