The Pick n Pay Smart Shopper rewards programme earns customers point whenever they swipe their card at a till point.
Shoppers can spend the points that they earn at Pick n Pay stores on any of the items available in the store, including groceries, clothing and airtime, as well as to pay their utility bill.
However, customers can now also exchange their points for vouchers to use at any of Pick n Pay’s partners.

Head of smart shopper at Pick n Pay, Steve Hoban explained: “It’s all about giving our customers opportunities to treat themselves and their families in spite of tough economic conditions. It’s a value-added benefit we give to our customers simply for continuing to do what they have been doing and choosing to do their shop with us.”
Pick n Pay has partnered with a number of different retailers and companies to offer its customers value-for money deals.
Ster-Kinekor:Customers can exchange R30 worth of their Smart Shopper points for a 2D movie voucher from Ster-Kinekor at any Smart Shopper kiosk in the Pick n Pay stores.
Spur:Smart Shoppers can exchange R25 points for a R50 Spur meal voucher which is accepted at selected Spurs in the Western Cape. The Pick n Pay website explains: “You can switch for multiple vouchers and can use one voucher for every R110 spent (excluding gratuity).”
Ratanga Junction:Customers can exchange R86 of the Smart Shopper points in exchange for a R172 Ratanga Junction Theme Park Full Adventurer Ticket, which is a 50% discount.
Ratanga Junction Fun Day: On 14 March, the theme park is opened just for Smart Shoppers. You simply have to exchange R50 worth of points for a ticket. However, a minimum of two tickets must be purchased. For the terms and conditions of this offer, click here.
Planet Fitness:When Smart Shoppers sign up for a 24 month Planet Fitness contract, they get the first 12 months for R199 per month, as well as 5 000 Smart Shopper points and a one week free trial. Customers just have to show their Smart Shopper card at the reception desk when they go to sign up.
NetFlorist:Smart Shoppers can exchange R50 of their points for a R100 NetFlorist voucher. “Make it extra special by earning 10x points when you make your online purchase through the smart shopper landing page with your smart switch voucher,” says the Smart Shopper website.
Galaxy & Co.: Customers can earn a 15% discount, as well as 5x Smart Shopper points if they swipe their Smart Shopper card when making a purchase at Galaxy & Co.
Europcar:Smart Shopper customers can earn 5 000 points per rental on the return of the car to the rental dealer. You can also earn 3 000 points when you book a transfer with Europcar.
Avios:This is a free travel rewards programme. Smart Shopper customers, who are also Avios Travel Rewards Members and/or British Airways Executive Club Members, can exchange their points at any of the Smart Shopper Kiosks for Avios (travel currency), which they can redeem against British Airways flights, hotels and car hire. Absa:Absa Rewards members get a further 15% points, when they exchange their Absa Cash Rewards to Smart Shopper points. The website explains: “If you have 100 Cash Rewards and make the switch, you’ll automatically earn 115 smart shopper points.”
