The holidays are coming. The sun is shining, the recession is allegedly receding. So now it's time to get a bit of your groove on, head out into the sunshine and enjoy the summer music festivals. All well and good, but festivals can cost a packet and if you want to get the most of them you will need to plan a budget and be prepared. There are also so many quality parties going down that you will need to pick and choose the best ones for you. So what can you do?

Synergy which kicks off this weekend is a three day music festival featuring some of South Africa's top live music acts. It's going to be a blast but a three day pass can cost you up to R380 if you didn't get the early bird tickets. When you are at the festivals you will need money for a bunch of other things. Food, drink, toilets, stalls and all the other things available for purchase, most festivals don't run like Afrika Burns!

So plan your budget, decide which summer music festivals you want to go to and get the early bird tickets.
