The Heart and Sole anti landmine by unicycle tour shows us a few money saving tips
6 January 2010 · Staff Writer
Geoff 'Heartman' Brink is a man on a mission. He is riding a unicycle, yes a unicycle, the bicycle with only one wheel all the way from Durban to Cape Town. That is 1700 kilometres and it is all in aid of helping to rid the world of landmines. A worthy cause. In his latest blog post found at Fredhatman.co.za he looks at ways that you can save a bit of money as they find the unicycle tour depleting their funds quicker than they thought. So what do they suggest?
There are a few other sensible suggestions that they make, so go check them out. The tour is designed to raise money, but they have found that their personal finances required to make the trip are taking a beating. Justmoney bangs on about budget planning all the time and this is another example of why planning a realistic budget is so important to enable you to do all the things that you want to do. But Geoff is out there, right now on his unicycle and could use all the help he can get.
On the blog following the tour they state "We would gratefully welcome any donations, no matter how small, from the public. Please deposit these in the account of G. M. Brink, Standard Bank, Plusplan account 056 706 804, Branch code 042 626". So if you have a bit of extra cash to spare, why not help them get their budget back on track and contribute to a worthy cause at the same time. The Heart and Sole tour is only a week in, so get out there and support them in their mission to make the world a better place.
