The Mail and Guardian came in with the headline 'Talks continue as fuel stations run dry'. The concerned parties felt that they had come to an agreement but there was some dispute about who is covered by it. The financial agreement was also 2% lower than the union had been calling for. There have been some reports of violence and intimidation on the part of the strikers.

iAfrica noted in an article titled 'Dead rubber' that the police had responded with rubber bullets to protestors in Johannesburg. The police said this was to disperse people who had assaulted two truck drivers. The strike continunes and more petrol stations are expected to run out of petrol supplies.
