Even the better-off are taking a beating

Middle-class South Africans are giving up their luxuries as they battle with the plummeting economy. Interviews with middle to high-income professionals made it clear that even the relatively well-heeled were struggling with the effects of soaring fuel prices, rising interest rates and a generally shrinking economy.

Justmoney.co.za says:

With the ongoing pressures on day to day living expenses, now is the time to compare and contrast to make sure that your finances are in order.
Check if your savings accounts and your bank accounts are delivering for you. 
Consider  whether your credit card is providing the best possible deal.
Review your vehicle insurance and your life insurance
Decide whether a personal loan might be neccessary to consolidate your debt. Get debt management, if necessary, before it is too late.
