Stress and the recession

By Staff Writer

Stress is one of the largest killers. Stress related diseases are making up more and more of the causes of disease every year. This year is a recession year and recessions tend to be rather stressful. You worry about your job and your family, you worry about the future, and then you worry that you don't have enough medical aid to cover you if you or a member of your family gets sick. So what can you do about it?

There are a lot of medical aids out there and they offer a range of various options for various people, circumstances and needs. Don't just stick with the one that you have always been with just because it is easier. This is a recession and money saved is so important right now. Don't stress yourself into illness though trying to find a better medical aid as there are now sites on the internet that allow you to compare medical aid quotes in real time and take the stress out of being stressed.

Recent evidence from a leading medical aid suggests that claims are up this year and that may well be due to the recession. As people feel more under stress so does their health get more stressed and the usual seasonal spikes are larger than before the recession, and this whole year has shown a rise in claims. If you think you are paying too much for your medical aid but still want the peace of mind offered by good cover don't stress yourself out any further and find a medical aid that will help you to save and stay healthy.
