Send Money from phone to phone:

At Justmoney.co.za we are really excited about the FNB Send Money product - its a great initiative that means that we are one step closer to be able to transact on cellphones alone. Send money from a FNB ATM or your FNB online or cellphone banking account to anyone with a valid South African cellphone number and the receiver does not need to have a bank account. They can then access the money immediately at an FNB ATM without needing a bank card or filling out any form. You gotta try this fantastic service to understand the true potential of this new product. Check it out here.

Nedbank eNotes:

Nedbank finally joins the party and rolls out their own SMS update service. Some might argue that this service should be free, but none will argue that this service is a fantastic way to stay in control of your finances. For between R2 and R12 per month, you can receive updates on all till-point transactions, deposits, ATM cash withdrawals, scheduled payments, third party payments and airtime top-ups, as well as service notices to keep you on top of your money. Visit the Nedbank eNotes page here.

Is PayPal finally coming to SA?

The rumours on Twitter appear to be true, with FNB confirming that they are in discussions with global company PayPal. It's not a mobile application, but rather an online payment system available in over 190 countries which allows people to shop on the Internet and make payments without revealing their credit card details - using unique user ID's as payment information - visit the homepage here to discover more.
