SA Gold Coin Exchange launch limited edition Robben Island coin

By Staff Writer
With gold recently hitting yet another high, SA Gold Coin exchange could not have picked a better time to bring out a limited edition Mandela Robben Island Medallion.

This Medallion is unique because it is the first in the series to feature both Mandela and Robben Island on the same coin. The medallion is proof quality, made out of half an ounce of pure gold and is 27 mm in diameter.

If you have a little bit more to invest, you can opt for 2oz Mandela Island Medallion. This medallion features Mandela on the one side and a shot of table mountain with an aerial view of Robben Island and the dates 1964-1982 (Madnela's prison date) engraved on it.

There will only be 750 of these medallions minted, which will make them a rare collectors' edition piece .

With the Soccer World Cup around the corner and the focus on South Africa being united as a nation, a limited edition gold coin which is minted with the epitome of South African democracy is great investment but it could also make a great gift.
