In assessing the current economic outlook in SA, Business Unity South Africa (Busa) says that, while there are indisputable signs of a serious and rapid slowdown in economic and business activity in 2008, the overall growth outlook remains positive.

Justmoney.co.za says:

The economy works in cycles, things get bad then they getter better, and so on. Right now, things are looking a little bad, but are expected to get better. While we wait for the economy to turn you can cut back now. Open a savings accountconsolidate your debt, or transfer your credit card balance. Don't let the downturn ride you, when you can ride it.
