It's time for a breather in inflation war

Critical indicators show a marked improvement in the inflation outlook since the Reserve Bank's monetary policy committee (MPC) hiked interest rates on June 11. This implies that the MPC may halt the rate rising cycle, which started more than two years ago, when it wraps up its two-day meeting on Thursday.

The MPC is meeting again this week, and there is little expectation of another rate hike. However regardless of what the Governor decides to do, now is a great time to open a savings account, transfer the balance on your credit card and get your life insurance up to date.
