SA rates might rise in light of the global meltdown

Central banks in most countries recently cut interest rates, but the spectre of rate rises has returned to haunt the local market after the rand's steep fall.
Justmoney.co.za says:
We just don't know what is going on yet, but our banks are safe and offer decent interest rates, so why not get a savings account? Or swap your bank account to get lower charges? Or if you are struggling and own a home, why not consolidate your debt?
